West Virginia Republican Party Chair and Secretary of Commerce Matt Herridge is stepping down. In his announcement, he said a special election will take place on the 26th to complete his unexpired term.The formal resignation for Herridge will be made effective after the Summer Meeting in Morgantown on July 26, the same day the new chair is elected. Herridge has served as the state’s Republican Party chair for the past 18 months.
