Nightly lane closures are planned for a heavily-traveled portion of Interstate 64 in Charleston as crews continue preventative patching efforts along the Fort Hill Bridge. Alternating lanes of the interstate along the bridge will be closed Sunday though Friday from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., according to a news release from the West Virginia Department of Transportation. The span has seen multiple potholes form over the last month, requiring emergency repairs. Transportation officials expect intermittent lane closures to last several weeks.The Fort Hill Bridge has stood for more than 50 years and is one of the busiest in the state, sometimes carrying more than 100,000 vehicles in a day.
