Comment period ends Friday on TransGas project

The company TransGas has a proposal on the table to build two off-grid power plants to supply electricity to data centers. One would be located on 22 Mine Road and the other would be on Twisted Gun Road in Mingo County. The engines that would be used there would operate on either natural gas or diesel. Eyewitness News said 114 engines would be operating full time. There were questions at a public hearing this week about whether the facility would pose a threat to their air quality, and DEP air quality staff said their evaluations have shown emissions will not be harmful. The public comment period will end at 5 p.m. on Friday.
