A new neighborhood is planned for Putnam County. The Development Authority has plans to turn a former dairy farm into a new residential neighborhood off of Main Street in Hurricane. Construction will begin this fall on four hundred new single-family homes and townhomes. The project has been in the works since a study found major housing gaps in Putnam County. A residential contractor event will happen October 10th to connect companies with opportunities to work on the project. Woodworth Farms will sit on seventy acres and will open 2026.
