City of St. Albans is rolling out “PODA”

After more than a year of planning the City of St. Albans is rolling out its own private outdoor designated area more commonly known as a ‘PODA’, allowing people to purchase alcoholic beverages from participating businesses on Olde Main Street as well as enter other businesses who allow them. Vice Mayor of St. Albans Jared Page said he views the addition of PODA as a chance to help grow businesses in the area. With the new addition business owners in the area like Michael Ervin from Coal River Coffee Company said they were excited to see how PODA would be received. “With anything new and any kind of change there’s always a little bit of fear involved like how’s this gonna work is it gonna be successful,” Ervin said. “So I think that we were both excited and also a little bit nervous.”
