Judge orders Milton Police Chief to be reinstated

There’s been a big development in Milton. The town’s former police chief is getting his job back.

A judge in Cabell County has ordered the city to reinstate Kyle O’Dell as police chief and give him back pay. That ruling came from Circuit Judge Chad Lovejoy after a hearing this week.

Back on August 5th, during a city council meeting, Mayor Shane Evans announced that O’Dell had resigned, but O’Dell was at the meeting and didn’t exactly seem to agree with that version of events.

When residents asked what happened, Mayor Evans simply said he couldn’t talk about it. Still, no reason has been given for O’Dell’s exit.

This latest court decision to reinstate Chief O’Dell is part of a preliminary injunction.
