Family Treatment Court program to continue with grant funds

West Virginia’s Family Treatment Court program will continue for at least another year, thanks to a $1.16 million grant. The program helps parents battling addiction receive treatment while working to reunite with their children.
Funding had been uncertain after budget cuts and changes in opioid settlement distributions. Since 2019, the program has served hundreds of families, reunified over 430 children, and kept most out of foster care long-term.

The court system is still pushing for a permanent funding solution.
