An arrest is made in Kentucky mother and daughter’s murder

An arrest has been made in an ongoing homicide investigation after a mother and daughter were found dead at a Rowan County home. 44-year old Joshua W. Cottrell of Morehead has been charged with two counts of murder and one count of tampering with physical evidence, according to a news release from Kentucky State Police. Rowan County deputies responded to a welfare check along South Spring Street where the bodies of 37-year-old Kayla Blake and 13-year-old Kennedi McWhorter were discovered. Cottrell is being housed at McCracken County Jail on a $1 million cash bond.
