Roundabounts are not a definite part of the plan in Scott Depot

The West Virginia Division of Highways has not yet made a decision on a plan that could add four roundabouts along Teays Valley Road in Scott Depot. The proposal covers a mile-and-a-half stretch from Apple Lane to the Kroger at Great Teays Boulevard and has raised concerns about traffic, congestion, and property loss.

A citizens group is pushing an alternative plan with a narrower design and a center turn lane instead of roundabouts. They say it would save more homes and businesses.

The committee is also calling for another public hearing, claiming many affected residents weren’t involved early in the process.

The next Putnam County transportation meeting is November 17th.
