New rules aim to curb disruptive behavior at the Shawnee Sports Complex

The Kanawha County Commission has come up with a policy to ban disruptive people from the Shawnee Sports Complex. Commission President Ben Salango told Eyewitness News they want to make the complex safe for everyone, to keep chatter from the bleachers from turning into threats or violence. Salango said their lawyer has come up with a list of rules and regulations to enforce. Offensive language, disruptive conduct, or interfering with the activities are all prohibited. Salango said if there is an offender and they get a written notice, they’re hopeful no more action will need to be taken but if that is the case, it can lead to a permanent ban.
