This week a Sissonville man was sentenced to 60-185 years for child rape; judge calling him a ‘monster’. In August, Nicholas Quade, 25, pleaded guilty to five charges, including first-degree sexual assault, sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, or person in a position of trust and first-degree sexual abuse. In February 2024, deputies the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office responded to a hospital where the 9 year old victim, who was 9 at the time, told them she had been sexually assaulted by Quade. Defense attorney Ed Rebrook told Kanawha County Circuit Court Judge Tera Salango. “I think that my client’s actions are indefensible” Salanago sentenced Quade to 60 to 185 years in prison. If he is ever released, he must serve 50 years of extended supervision and register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
