A Monongalia County woman has been arrested after being accused of physically abusing a two-week old child. 21-year old Cheyann Reichard of Westover has been charged with child abuse resulting in bodily injury, according to a new release from the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office. Child Protective Services contacted deputies, who said the baby had apparently been “violently shaken and injured” at a Westover apartment. Doctors confirmed the injuries were not accidental and consistent with a case of severe physical abuse. Reichard is awaiting more court dates.
