The Calhoun County Commission accepted the resignation of Commissioner Jacob McCumbers in the wake of numerous child sexual abuse charges brought against him last month. McCumbers submitted his resignation letter on Monday, which the Calhoun County Commission stated in a press release was not an admission of guilt. Shortly after accepting McCumbers’ resignation, the Commission appointed Clarence Lee Rush, of Arnoldsburg, to fill McCumbers’ role as Calhoun County Commissioner.
