Public hearing is set to discuss Hope Gas rate increase

The Public Service Commission of West Virginia will hold a public hearing on Nov. 3 to discuss a proposed 40% rate increase by Hope Gas. The hearing begins at 6 p.m. at PSC headquarters in Charleston, with an option to attend virtually. The proposed hike would impact residential and commercial customers across 37 counties and generate nearly $80 million in additional revenue. The PSC delayed the increase after receiving dozens of public protests and will decide next year whether to approve it.
