Barboursville Police Chief to retire

Barboursville Police Chief Daren “Rooster” McNeil is retiring after nearly 40 years in law enforcement.

McNeil has served as chief for the past eight years and will officially step down on October 27. The department praised him for his decades of service and leadership, calling him one of the most respected officers in West Virginia.

Barboursville Mayor Chris Tatum says Deputy Chief Anthony Jividen will serve as interim chief until a permanent replacement is named.
