Work is moving forward to reopen a small bridge in Charleston that’s been closed since August.
The 18-foot span on Rutledge Road was shut down after an inspection found structural problems, forcing drivers, including school buses and emergency crews, onto long detours.
Highway officials say crews poured new concrete this week and will soon pave the approaches and install guardrails.
The project was originally set to wrap up in December, but the West Virginia Division of Highways now expects the bridge to reopen by mid-November.
