A former Calhoun County commissioner accused of sexually abusing a child for years was still paid nearly three thousand dollars while under home confinement.
Records show 39-year-old Joseph McCumbers of Arnoldsburg received $2,912 between his September 13th arrest and his resignation a month later. McCumbers faces fifty counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, or custodian.
State Police say the alleged victim reported years of abuse beginning before the age of ten, and that McCumbers threatened him to stay silent.
McCumbers, who also worked as a first-grade teacher, was removed from the classroom once the investigation began. He remains free on a $100,000 bond and is due in court November third.
