Charleston man arrested in St Albans on drug charges

Saint Albans police say a Charleston man was arrested Thursday after officers said he tried to flush more than 100 pills down the toilet at the police department. Members of the Saint Albans Police Department’s Special Enforcement Unit saw a man, later identified as Markale Foster, 29, meet with another person in a vehicle. Officers stopped the vehicle and took Foster into custody. Police said that once Foster was at the department, he began fighting with officers and tried to flush a plastic bag down a toilet. Investigators recovered 141 oxycodone pills from the toilet, according to the release. Foster is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and conspiracy to manufacture, deliver or possess with intent to deliver a controlled substance. He is being held at the South Central Regional Jail on a $25,000 cash bond.
