An Ohio man is facing charges after police say he drove to West Virginia to meet someone he believed was a teenage girl. Investigators say 56-year-old Jerry Christopher Simoncic of Zanesville began chatting online with a Parkersburg police detective posing as a 14-year-old. According to police, the conversation quickly became sexual, and Simoncic expressed plans to travel to Parkersburg for a sexual encounter. Officers stopped him as he drove to the agreed meeting spot and took him into custody. Simoncic is being held at the North Central Regional Jail on a $75,000 bond.
