A Charleston woman is facing child neglect charges after she allegedly left her young children in a disheveled and dirty home to go shopping. Tyla Jade Wise, 31, of Charleston, was arrested on Thursday and charged with child neglect resulting in injury and child neglect creating risk of injury, according to a criminal complaint filed to Kanawha County Magistrate Court. The incident took place on Mary Street in Charleston. The complaint alleges that Wise left her seven-year-old and 10-year-old children in her residence alone and were discovered when her landlord came by to ask her about being past due on rent. The landlord also noted that the residence appeared unsuitable for the children to be in, so he called law enforcement for assistance
