Gov. Morrissey is confident heading into 2026

Gov. Patrick Morrissey told Eyewitness News that the state is positioned for a strong year in 2026, but emphasizes that success comes from sticking to the fundamentals.
Entering his second year in office, Morrissey points to economic development as evidence of progress. One recent announcement involves pay raises for state employees, including teachers, school service personnel, and law enforcement officers. Some employees worry that higher PEIA premiums could offset those raises, but Morrissey said the increase is manageable. A pay raise proposal will go before the legislature next year.
