The former Cleveland officer who shot and killed 12-year-old Tamir Rice back in 2014 has left another job in West Virginia, according to reports. A unanimous vote by members of the Snowshoe Resort Community District resulted in the termination of Timothy Loehmann, who was employed as an armed ranger, according to the Chandra Law Firm. Snowshoe residents raised concerns about the hiring after an ACLU of West Virginia report was published, outlining Loehmann’s brief stint with the city of White Sulphur Springs. The 2014 shooting occurred as Rice was playing with a pellet gun near a Cleveland recreation center. In 2018, Loehmann withdrew an application to work as a part-time officer with the Bellaire Police Department. In 2022, he left a Pennsylvania police department following a rise in public concern.
