Sissonville husband faces a murder charge for killing his wife

A Sissonville man accused of killing his wife was out on bond for allegedly abusing her. Deputies say 46-year-old Jason Phillips called 911 around 3 a.m. Saturday and reported shooting his wife, Joanna Phillips, inside their Allens Fork Road home. He’s now charged with first-degree murder. Court records show Phillips was free on a personal recognizance bond for a domestic battery charge involving his wife and had been ordered to have no contact with her. Phillips is being held without bond and faces a preliminary hearing December 29.
