Local referee gets to ref a Bowl of a lifetime in Texas

A West Virginia official enjoyed a great career moment during college football’s bowl season. South Charleston’s Steven Robinson served as the referee for the First Responder’s Bowl at Gerald Ford Stadium in Dallas between Florida International University and the University of Texas at San Antonio. UTSA ended up steamrolling FIU by a score of 57-20. Robinson has been an official in the state of West Virginia for several years. He works regular season games for the Sun Belt Conference in addition to high school games. This is Robinson’s third season in Division I football. He is a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley, West Virginia State University and Marshall University.
