Flu cases are at their highest national level in 25 years, and West Virginia is starting to see a rise. Kanawha-Charleston Health Officer Dr. Steven Eshenaur says this year’s strain is particularly severe, causing high fevers, respiratory issues, and even stomach problems. With the CDC no longer recommending the flu shot for all children, he urges vaccinations, handwashing, and staying home if sick. Flu shots are available at health departments, pharmacies, and many doctor’s offices.
