The ongoing effects of an oil spill in Wayne County forced the closure of four schools on Tuesday due to water quality concerns. Wayne County Schools said East Lynn Elementary, Wayne Elementary, Wayne Middle, and Wayne High School all closed. Superintendent Todd Alexander said the closures could extend later into the week as officials continue to monitor the situation and await water testing results.
