A Logan County man is facing multiple charges after troopers say he sexually assaulted a minor over several years.
According to the West Virginia State Police, 44-year-old Daniel Scaggs of Logan was arrested Thursday and charged with first-degree sexual assault. Troopers say they received a referral from Child Protective Services on Feb. 5 regarding an alleged assault in the Ethel area. An investigation determined the abuse allegedly occurred over a three-year period.
When officers went to serve the arrest warrant, they say Scaggs ran into nearby woods but was quickly captured. He’s also charged with obstruction and fleeing.
