Work Continues on Cleaning Up the old Century Aluminum Site

The former Century Aluminum site in Jackson County has to be cleared and cleaned of any toxic materials. New Jersey-based Applied Partners bought the Century Aluminum site and surrounding property, but problems crept up and it wanted out of the deal. WCHS TV reported the final papers were signed last month and West Virginia now owns the 22-hundred acres at a cost of the remaining loan balance of 11 and a half million dollars. The next step is to get it ready for development.
