The YMCA in Kanawha County is celebrating some exciting news for one of its tennis instructors. Patrick Donaghey, who is paraplegic, has cracked the top ten nationally in singles and doubles rankings in wheelchair tennis. Donaghey was paralyzed after being robbed in New York and had never played tennis prior to the incident. He said he started playing because he couldn’t find a place to play wheelchair basketball. Donaghey is currently No. 9 in the singles rankings and No. 10 in doubles. He has competed on the national level for several years.
