Local Health Official Echos the Governor’s Statement on Coronavirus

As the coronavirus continues to spread across the United States, health officials in West Virginia — and the governor — said there is no reason for the state’s residents to panic. Gov. Jim Justice said during a news conference Wednesday that residents should carry on with their normal lives. Dr. Sherri Young with the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department echoed the governor’s statement to WCHS-TV. She said more than 80% of coronavirus cases that have been identified have been mild diseases. In addition to sanitizing shared areas while traveling, Young suggested doing the same at home, while also thoroughly washing your hands.
