WV graduation rate up for third straight year

West Virginia’s high school graduation rate is up for the third year in a row. Over ninety-percent of the 2021 class will graduate this year. Doddridge County leads the state with a one-hundred-percent graduation rate, while McDowell County has the lowest graduation rate at just over 82-percent.

COVID-19 vaccination rate falling

West Virginia’s COVID-19 vaccination rate is slowing down. The vaccine administration rate on Friday was 85-percent. Governor Justice calls that, “incredibly low.” Less than forty-percent of West Virginians have received at least one dose of vaccine.

Five more COVID-19 deaths in WV

Health officials confirm five more COIVD-19 deaths in West Virginia. There are 370 new cases of the virus, and almost 74-hundred active cases. The daily positive test rate is four-point-three-percent.

School Closure Depends on Funding for Consolidation

WVU Student Who Died in Parking Garage Incident is Identified

A West Virginia University student who fell from a parking garage died Friday. 20-year old Benjamin Pravecek of Harpers Ferry died after university police said he either fell or jumped from a parking garage and landed on the sidewalk.
