News Staff The Huntington City Council is considering two ordinances to put a stop to illegal bars. The city attorney says there has been a surge of businesses opening as “game rooms,” in an effort to circumvent the West Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control Administration and city requirements for bars.
There are almost three-hundred new cases of COVID-19, and 75-hundred active cases of the virus in West Virginia. That’s the highest number of cases since late February, and Governor Justice says, we can’t let down our guard. More than 460-thousand West Virginians are fully vaccinated.

Former Nelsonville deputy auditor, Stephanie Wilson, will spend almost five years behind bars, and will pay over two-hundred-thousand-dollars in restitution, for embezzling money from the city. She directed money into fake accounts, and overpaid herself.
An Alkol homeowner came face-to-face with a naked man trying to break into his home and two o’clock in the morning. The homeowner shot the suspect in the shoulder. He’s in stable condition. No charges are being filed against homeowner.
A forty-year-old woman is facing child neglect charges for leaving her nine-year-old son home alone for an extended period of time while she went to the store to buy cigarettes. While she was out a grease fire sparked in the kitchen. The boy made it out safely, he’s being cared for by his great-grandmother.
West Virginia gets a “D” on President Biden’s infrastructure report card. The state could see massive upgrades as part of the Presidents American jobs Plan. It would be used to repair and replace road and bridges, public transportation, drinking water and more. Congress still has to approve the plan.
