WV Senate passes bill banning transgender athletes

The state Senate passed a bill that would ban transgender athletes from participating in school sports. The bill bans transgender girls and women from playing sports at the elementary, secondary, or post-secondary level. The Human Rights Campaign says West Virginia is one of thirty states to introduce anti-LGBTQ legislation this session.

The Kanawha-Charleston Health Department will hold a COVID-19 vaccination clinic tomorrow at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center. There is a limited number of first dose appoints for anyone sixteen and older. Second shots are available for those who received their first dose in the first part of March.

Woman facing charges after baby dies ruing home birth

A Ritchie County woman, who gave birth at home, is accused of not trying to resuscitate the infant or call for help. The baby was blue and not breathing, but she did not attempt to revive the child. She wrapped the baby in a towel and placed it beside her bed.

Capital High School team plays in honor of fallen teammate

The Capital-South Charleston basketball game took on a different meaning Thursday night as the students mourn the loss of 18-year-old K.J. Taylor.
