Senator Manchin calls for immigration plan

Senator Joe Manchin got a first-hand look at what’s going on at the U.S.-Mexico border. He’s calling on Congress to address the rise in migrants entering the country. Manchin says he would back a measure that includes a pathway to citizenship for some immigrants and enhancements to border security.

Rally against tax cut plans

A rally is scheduled for eleven o’clock this morning, on the north side of the Capitol, calling on legislators to vote against any cuts to state personal income tax. Organizers say the tax cut proposals would slash state revenue, resulting in less funding for programs that families count on.

No injuries in bus crash

No one was hurt in a crash involving two Kanawha County school buses. It happened near the Greenbriar Street exit. Around thirty kids were on the two buses.

Needle exchange bill would require local government approval

A bill moving through the state Senate would create a license application process for needle exchange programs in West Virginia, and would also require local government approval. Meanwhile, Charleston City Council will vote on a measure requiring needle exchange programs to be state certified.

Charleston Road Closure Will Last Through June

The CIty of Charleston is sending a heads up to drivers about road work that will start next week.
