WV man charged with assaulting Capitol police officer

A West Virginia man is one of two men under arrest for assaulting U.S. Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick during the January 6th riots. Thirty-nine-year-old George Tanios, of Morgantown, is accused of spraying the officer with bear spray, which may have contributed to his death.

Two arrested, two more wanted, in catalytic converter thefts

Two men are under arrest, and police are looking for two others in connection to stealing catalytic converters throughout Raleigh County. The thieves are accused of stealing more than a dozen catalytic converters, and police plan to make more arrests of those who knowingly received the stolen converters.

Adams found not guilty in phony abduction trial

Santana Adams has been found not guilty of falsely accusing an Egyptian man of trying to kidnap her daughter in 2019. Adams stuck with her story, claiming Mohammad Zayan grabbed her daughter by the ponytail, despite the fact that surveillance video didn’t support her claims. Charges were dropped against Zayan.

Most first responders don’t want a needle exchange program

More than eighty-percent of Charleston’s first responders say the needle exchange program wasn’t good for the city and led to an increase in crime, and they don’t think the city needs any additional programs. The city wanted feedback from first responders before changing the city’s needle exchange ordinance.
