Appalachian Power restores power to 85% of customers

Appalachian Power says 85-percent of customers who lost power between February 11th and February 15th no have electricity. Most of the remaining outages are in Cabell, Mason, and Wayne counties. Around 12-thousand customers still do not have power.

WV BOE approves retunr to in-person learning

The state Board of Education voted to mandate all elementary and middle school students return to five-day in-person instruction beginning March 3rd. High schools can stay in blended mode if the infection rate in the community is high.

Full Power Restoration Isn’t Expected Until Friday

Appalachian Power officials extended the time for the expected restoration of service for customers in Wayne, Cabell, Jackson, Lincoln, Mason and Putnam counties. West Virginia’s Alcohol Beverage Control Administration commissioner suspended the license of a Charleston pub and ordered it to immediately close after receiving complaints about overcrowding and COVID-19 violations.
