DMV plans to keep appointment system in place

The state DMV says it will keep the regional office appointment system in place after the pandemic. The agency says COVID-19 protocols forced the change, and it’s gone well. More than fifty-percent of transactions are being done online, and the agency plans to expand those services.

Gov. Justice talks income tax cut

Governor Justice is laying the groundwork for his proposal to phase out state personal income tax. He says other taxes will need to be raised “here and there” to make up the more than two-billion-dollars. An initial step would cut the income tax for all residents, except for the highest earners.

WVU play TCU Tuesday

WVU’s Texas tour continues tonight. The Mountaineers will take on TCU tonight in Fort Worth. Tipoff is at 7:00. WVU will play Baylor Thursday night.

Thousands still out of power

West Virginia still has more than twenty-thousand power outages. Appalachian Power says it could take until the end of the week to restore power in some areas. Outages peaked at 97-thousand customers due to back-back-ice storms more than ten days ago.

Cabell County Board of Education buys Sears building

The Cabell County Board of Education voted to move forward with the over five-and-a-half-million-dollar purchase of the former Sears property at Huntington Mall in Barboursville. The building will be turned into a high-tech career center for training in aerospace, coding, and local industries.

Apartment Complex Has Four Fires in Four Days
