Capito says Trump could face consequences

Senator Shelley Moore Capito says former President Trump could still face charges in criminal and civil court for his role in the January 6th riots at the U.S. Capitol. Capito says she voted find Trump not guilty in the impeachment proceedings because he couldn’t be removed from office.

Officer-involved shooting i Raleigh County

An officer-involved shooting is under investigation in Raleigh County. Officers were serving a search warrant at the Patriot Inn Motel in Beaver when shots were fired. The suspect was shot, and is in stable condition. No officers were hurt.

WVAW reporting water outages

West Virginia American Waters says some customers are experiencing intermittent outages, or low pressure, tied to power outages. If you’re water is out, you should boil water for 24-hours after service is restored.

Fallen trees damage animal shelter

More than fifteen trees are down at Little Victories Animal Rescue in Cabell County. Thousands of dollars’ worth of fencing and animal shelters are destroyed. None of the animals were hurt.

Thousands of West Virginians without power

Thousands of West Virginians are without power, and several warming centers are open. The Teays Valley Church of God says it will stay open for as long as needed, and the Salvation Army on Tennessee Avenue is open as an overnight warming center.

Four counties under State of Emergency

Governor Justice is declaring a state of emergency in Cabell, Lincoln, Putnam and Wayne counties. The rest of the state is under a state of preparedness. Tens of thousands of people are without power and trees are down blocking roads.

Active COVID Cases Continue to Drop

Daily positive COVID-19 cases continue to drop across West Virginia as the state Department of Health and Human Resources reported 228 new cases on Tuesday. County Alert Map Shows No Counties in Red

For the third straight day, no counties were in red on the West Virginia county alert map and 20 of the state’s 55 counties were in green.
