Body found in Ohio River is missing South Charleston man

A body found in the Ohio River has been identified as a missing South Charleston man. Seventy-one-year-old Gordon Massie never returned home from work on December 2nd, and his body was found at the Greenup Locks and Dam just over a week ago. Police do not suspect foul play.

Firefighter charged with assault

A Charleston firefighter is fired after being charged with two counts of second-degree assault in two separate incidents. Twenty-five-year-old Christopher Osborne is also a Marmet police officer and a firefighter with the Danville Volunteer Fire Department. He’s on leave from his job as a police officer and was dismissed from the Danville Fire Department.

Fire Destroys a Former Church

A former church in Kanawha County was destroyed by fire early Wednesday morning. The call came in around 2:00 am on Golden Lane near Kanawha State Forest. Firefighters said the building had been used for storage in the past, but it had been years. The cause is under investigation.
