Two people found dead inside a van

The bodies of a man, woman, and dog were found inside a van in a parking lot at Eastern Heights on route-60 in Huntington. Investigators say it appears they were trying to stay warm and were overcome by carbon monoxide. The van’s ignition was on, but it was out of gas.

Man arrested in Huntington carjacking

Huntington police arrested a robbery suspect with an extensive criminal history. David Michael Weaver is accused of robbing two men at gunpoint and stealing their car at Sheetz on 18th Street West earlier this week. Weaver’s criminal history spans numerous states. He was previously charged with grand theft auto, carjacking, and armed robbery.

There are over nine-hundred new cases of COVID-19 in West Virginia, but the number of active cases is going down, with less than 23-thousand. Twenty-three more people have died, pushing the state’s death toll to over two-thousand. Over five-hundred patients are hospitalized with the virus. That’s the lowest number since November.

Governor Justice is urging younger teachers to pre-register online, and they will be given priority when the state gets through the elderly population. Health officials are reporting almost eight-hundred new cases of COVID-19 in West Virginia, and thirty more people have died. Hospitalizations are down with just under five-hundred-forty people in the hospital. That’s the lowest number since November.
