It’s Been 15 Years Since the Sago Mine Disaster

Saturday marked the 15th anniversary of the Sago mine disaster that killed 12 West Virginia miners. On Jan. 2, 2006, an Upshur County mine collapsed after a lightning strike in the area and caused an explosion and thirteen miners were trapped inside. There was only one survivor when rescue crews arrived on January 4th.

Man injured in Huntington shooting

Huntington police are investigating a shooting that sent one person to the hospital. Police responded to shots fired on 25th Street. The extent of the victim’s injuries are unknown at this time. So far, no arrests have been made.
