WVU fills hole in schedule with Northeastern game

WVU men’s basketball is filling a hole in their schedule for a third time. The Mountaineers will play Northeastern on December 29th. West Virginia was originally scheduled to host Buffalo on Tuesday, but the Bulls were unable to play due to COVID protocols.

Hino Motors pauses production until Oct. 2021

34 WV counties in the red on COVID-19 alert map

Thirty four counties are in the red on West Virginia’s COVID-19 alert map. Kanawha County and thirteen other counties are in the orange. The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources reported almost 15-hundred new cases of the virus, and twenty more people have died. The state’s daily positive test rate is eight-percent.

Suspect wanted in Barboursville shooting

Police are looking for the gunman involved in a shooting at the Red Roof Inn in Barboursville. One person was shot and taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Investigators have identified the shooter. Jahson Gresham is wanted on malicious wounding charges. Police his considered armed and dangerous.

AT&T outages in eastern Kentucky

A-T-and-T customers in eastern Kentucky are reporting service outages due to the explosion, which was at an A-T-and-T data center. The outage is disrupting phone, text and internet services, and keeping some cans from connecting to 911 services.

First responders review local protocols after Nashville bombing

An RV explosion in Nashville has local firefighters thinking about their own response. South Charleston first responders say the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department would respond with their bomb squad, and they would treat it like any other burning building. The FBI is investigating the explosion in Nashville, and possible human remains found at the site.

Fire destroys Charleston home

Fire destroyed on home on Sharon Road. Flames were shooting through the roof when firefighters arrived. No one was home at the time. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
