New River Gorge will become National Park

The New River Gorge will become the country’s 63rd National Park. Congress approved the designation in year-end funding legislation. The designation is expected to increase visitation by twenty-percent.

Shots fired in WVSU parking lot

Students at West Virginia State University are off lockdown. Campus police are investigating after several shots were fired in the Sullivan Hall parking lot. One vehicle was hit three times. No one was hurt. Police are looking for the shooter.

Woman shot & killed with crossbow

Police are investigating after a woman was shot and killed with a crossbow at a home in St. Albans. Several people are being detained for questioning to determine if the shooting was an accident or intentional.

A woman convicted of stabbing and killing a woman outside a Sissonville convenience store has been sentenced to life with no possibility of parole.
