Yeager memorial planned for mid-January

A memorial for aviation legend Chuck Yeager is being planned for mid-January in Charleston. The West Virginia native died earlier this month at the age of 97. Yeager will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery.

Oil spill under investigation at Lake Chaweva

The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection is investigating an oil spill in a stream leading to Lake Chaweva in Cross Lanes. Residents reported a fish kill and the strong smell of petroleum. Officials say about fifty-gallons of oil spilled into the creek.

Body of missing man found in rubble

The body of one of the men who has been missing since Wednesday morning when a building collapsed has been found. Doug Gray’s body was found in the rubble of the Killen Generating Station near Manchester. One other man is still missing.

Juvenile charged in quadruple murder

A juvenile is charged with murder in the deaths of two adults and two children at a home near Elkview. A relative found the bodies of a man, his wife, and three and twelve year old sons in a house on Cemetery Hill Drive.

Charleston Woman is Arrested for 2017 Murder

A West Virginia woman suspected to be involved in a 2019 murder was arrested. Charleston police took Samantha Ilise Slater into custody Thursday afternoon in Dunbar, related to the July 17, 2019, death of Adam Swim. He was found dead in his Charleston home with a gunshot wound on his head, according to police.
