Officer Johnson’s funeral will be open to the public

Today’s funeral for fallen Charleston Police Officer Cassie Johnson will now be open to the public. The change in plans will require COVID-19 protocol with a temperature check, face masks, and social distancing. The funeral begins at noon today at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.

Virtual Joyful Night celebration

The annual Joyful Night celebration will be held virtually tonight. The Governor and First Lady will light the state Christmas tree, and perform the traditional reading of, “Twas the Night Before Christmas.” A live-stream of the program will be available on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter, and broadcast on the West Virginia Channel at seven p.m.

Suspect wanted in drive-by shooting

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was shot multiple times in a drive-by shooting at the Maury Village Apartments in Teays Valley. The victim died at the hospital. No arrests have been made.

America’s Got Talent” winner and Logan navitve Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. is performing a series of holiday concerts online. Landau’s Virtual Home for the Holidays Tour includes eight shows scheduled from Dec. 16 through 23. Murphy says the shows will be interactive. Murphy won the AGT show in 2011.
