News Staff There are over one-thousand new cases of COVID-19 in West Virginia, and eleven more people have died. Three more counties moved into the red on the state’s COVID-19 alert map. Thirty-three counties are in the red, orange, or gold.
A family is displaced after a house fire in South Charleston. The blaze started on the back porch of the home on Ohio Street, and was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived. Everyone made it out safely. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
A Kanawha County judge accepted a guilty plea from Arthur Woods in connection to his wife’s murder. She went missing in March of 2016, and her body has never been found. Woods entered a guilty plea to voluntary manslaughter.
Police are looking for a man who robbed Pam’s Casino in Huntington. The man flashed a weapon and demanded money from the clerk. He got away and took off on foot down the alley.

West Virginia State Police in Beckley said the search for a missing Oak Hill teen has become a homicide investigation and two suspects have been charged. The body of 17-year old Azareyiah Mitchell was found in another state, but they didn’t say which one because of the ongoing investigation. Mitchell was reported missing in September. … Read more
Eleven more COVID-19 deaths were reported in the Mountain State Thursday morning and the state has now hit the 50,000 mark for positive cases since the start of the pandemic. Health officials said the state has a total of 789 deaths related to the virus. There are 17,428 active cases in the state.
