Work zone speed limit enforcement

Charleston police are enforcing work zone speed limits through the construction zone at the new intersection being built at Oakwood Road and Corridor-G. There’s a traffic lane shift and a reduced speed limit of forty-miles-per-hour through the work zone.

Downtown street closure change

Street closures for outdoor dining are changing in downtown Charleston. COVID-19 numbers continue to climb

Friday was record setting day for COVID-19 numbers. There are more than five-hundred new cases of the virus, and 240 patients are hospitalized. Eight more people people have died, raising the state’s death toll to over 450.

Gold counties will get increased COVID-19 testing

Governor Justice is ordering a COVID-19 testing blitz after a record number of positive cases this week. Counties in the “gold” will now get the same kind of massive free testing as counties that are in the “red” and “orange.” The goal is ten-thousand tests per day statewide.

Possible COVID-19 exposure at trunk-or-treat

COVID-19 testing is underway in Boone County after a possible exposure at a trunk-or-treat earlier this week at the Racine fire station. Officials say the risk of exposure is low, and they are acting with an abundance of caution.

October revenue numbers strong

Governor Justice is touting October revenue numbers. He says collections will come in at more than twenty-million-dollars above estimates when the books officially close this weekend. Four months into the fiscal year the state is running over 110-million-dollars ahead of estimates. Officials say, Consumer Sales Tax, and Personal Income Tax are performing better than expected.
