News Staff Eight more people have died from COVID-19 in West Virginia, including three from Cabell County and one from Kanawha County. There are over 480 new cases of the virus, and the daily positive test rated jumped to almost three-and-a-half-percent.

A West Virginia teachers union says it pursue grievance procedures at the local level to address COVID-19 health and safety concerns. The American Federation of Teachers says the first three grievances filed in Kanawha County were resolved by lowering class sizes to permit social distancing.

Fayette County’s prosecutor said 32-year old Justin Conner of Oak Hill has been convicted after being accused of attacking and sexually assaulting a woman.
