State police are looking for two people captured on surveillance video at Walmart. The pair is wanted for allegedly using a stolen credit card at the Cross Lanes Walmart store Sept. 18. WV’s child obesity rate is nearly 20%

Nearly one-fifth of West Virginia children are obese. A new report from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation shows that nearly 20-percent of children between the ages of ten and seventeen are obese. That rate is the seventh highest in the country.

Justice says CARES Act money will be spent

The Governor says West Virginia is not sitting on federal CARES Act funding. Justice says every last dollar of CARES Act money will be disbursed before the December 30th deadline. The state received one-point-25-billion-dollars in federal relief, and so far, just over 280-million-dollars has been spent.

WV Supreme Court hears governor’s residency case

The West Virginia Supreme Court heard arguments about whether Governor Justice should live in the state capital. Hurricane man shot when he answered the door

A Hurricane man is recovering after he was shot in the head when he answered his door. Dale Mauntel called 911 and said that someone knocked on the door of his Marina Drive home and shot him. Mauntel is in serious, but stable condition. No arrests have been made.

Pedestrian hit by vehicle in Teays Valley

A 74-year-old man is in the hospital with life threatening injuries. He was trying to stop traffic on Teays Valley Road to let a vehicle out of a parking lot when he was hit. The driver stayed on the scene and is cooperating with police.

Hottest September on record

Last month was the hottest September on record. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says last month was the hottest since records began in 1880. In Charleston the average temperature was just over 78-degrees, which is about half-a-degree above average.
