Juvenile Faces Charges After Social Media Threat

Police said a George Washington High School student has been arrested in connection with an alleged threat that was posted on social media. The student is a juvenile so the name was not released. The student has been charged with threats of terrorist acts and was taken to James H. Tiger Morton Juvenile Facility.

Morgantown Nurse Dies From COVID-19

A nurse at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown died due to complications of COVID-19. The West Virginia Nurses Association said it marks the first West Virginia nurse death associated with the virus. 48-year old Jeannette Williams Parker was a clinical nurse preceptor and nurse supervisor of MRI, and had been in that role since 1997.

Fall Fire Season Is Underway

Fall fire season is underway in West Virginia, with limits set on outdoor burning through the end of the year. The latest data from West Virginia Kids Count shows the state is nearly last in the country for the economic wellbeing of children; dropping from 47th to 48th on the list this year. Nearly a quarter of kids live in poverty throughout West Virginia.
